Over Christmas, buy locally’ is the slogan of the new initiative within the promotional campaign devised by the Local Council ‘I will stay in Mijas’ with which the government team wants to encourage consumption in local businesses during this festive period. The mayor of the municipality, Josele González (PSOE), and the councillor for Commerce, Natalia Martínez (PSOE), presented this new initiative by the Council for Trade with which they intend to publicise the promotions and offers of the Mijas’ establishments through different channels.

With the aim of extending a helping hand to our businesses, which are having such a hard time due to the pandemic, today we present this campaign promoted by the Council for Commerce and with which we intend to give greater visibility to our commerce and encourage local consumption. We believe it is necessary and essential, since our business network is very large and many families also depend on Christmas sales”, said the mayor. This new campaign within ‘I will stay in Mijas’, which was launched in July and has been reactivated with different initiatives, will be in force from the 18th of December to the 5th of January. During this period, the mayor explained, “the shops that join the campaign will be promoted free of charge on the different communication channels of the Mijas Town Hall, as well as on the public company Mijas Comunicación in order to publicise the different products, services and articles they offer under the umbrella of this campaign”
