Tourism presents the 12th edition of the Tapa Route, in which eleven establishments in the village participate.

“Mijas goes far beyond ‘sun and beaches’ and has all kinds of assets capable of attracting a wide spectrum of visitors. Good food, without a doubt, is an ace up our sleeve and we want the world to know how good it is to eat in this municipality and the quality of our restaurants”. With this letter of introduction, the councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (C’s), fired the starting gun on Thursday the 25th for the 12th edition of the ‘Ruta de la Tapa’, an initiative in which 11 establishments from Mijas Village take part. On Tuesdays and Thursdays in July and August, they will offer a ‘tapa’ accompanied by a drink for 2.5 euros. In the case of the two ice cream parlours that participate, the  consumption will be ice cream without a drink. In this edition and after the health crisis, Tourism has wanted to give an extra boost of quality to all its initiatives and, in this case, the tapas have been exposed to a blind tasting carried out by the gastronomic journalist Cristóbal Gallego. Martín also stressed that “visitors have no reason for concern, as the establishments have implemented all kinds of sanitary measures”.
