The Mijas tourist offer has been present this week at one of the most important international tourism fairs in the world, the World Travel Market. The mayor Josele González; the fi rst deputy mayor, Juan Carlos Maldonado; and the Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín, have traveled to London with the aim of strengthening the British market, one of the main sources of tourists to our municipality. Dispelling the uncertainty caused by Brexit and enhancing the arrival of visitors outside the high season has been one of the priority objectives of the strategy deployed in the British capital, where golf courses have been promoted, among other attractions, as well as traditional segments: sun, beach and white village.

The city presents its offer, this year placing special emphasis on the variety of golf courses and the diversity of traditional and new tourist segments.

With the British market in the spotlight, a delegation from the Mijas Town Hall packed their luggage to go to London and promote its many riches. With that objective, “to continue being one of the main receivers of British tourists on the Costa del Sol and consolidate the market,” explained the mayor of the municipality, Josele González (PSOE), the delegation went to the World Travel Market Tourism Fair (WTM), which was held from the 4th to the 6th. The councillor for Tourism in the Mijas Town Hall, José Carlos Martín (C’s), and the fi rst deputy mayor of the City Council of Mijas and fi rst vice president of the Provincial Council in Málaga, Juan Carlos Maldonado (C’s), also attended the event that was also attended, among others, by the Minister for Tourism, Reyes Maroto; the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel María Oliver; the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno; Vice President and Minister of Tourism, Juan Marín.
