Mijas - Traditional Tourist Day will be celebrated in Mijas on September the 25th
The Virgen de la Peña square will host a flamenco show and gastronomic tastings for visitors. For another year, the Department for Tourism will dedicate a day to all those people who, during the year, place their trust and interest in getting to know our municipality. This will be done, as always, with the celebration of the traditional Tourist Day which, according to the councillor for the Department, José Carlos Martín (C’s), “will serve to thank the visitors for their contribution so that Mijas continues to grow”.
Programme
The events will begin at 12 noon on the Virgen de la Peña square in Mijas Village, where flamenco dancing and singing performances will be on stage and the awards of the Tapa Route and the Gourmet Route will be presented. Tastings of sweet wine and local products with the Sabor a Málaga brand will also be offered. “At noon there will be a free tasting of paella for all those who want to share this good time of getting together, and discovering the good cuisine of the area”, added Martin. The celebration will continue in the afternoon at the Bullring, which will host an equestrian show from 6 pm, and there will also be flamenco touch, with dancers alongside the horses. The councillor for Tourism encourages neighbours and visitors to come up to Mijas Village next Wednesday, September the 25th, “to enjoy a festive day that will be worthwhile, not only for the good atmosphere but also for the performances on the Virgen de la Peña square and surroundings”, he assured.
