The Tourist Office of La Cala attends to more than 10,000 visitors in the first half of 2019 . On August the 1st, it was one year since the facilities were inaugurated in the marine village.

Last Thursday, August the 1st, the Tourist Office of La Cala de Mijas celebrated its first anniversary and did it with very positive results. In the first half of 2019, its facilities have received a total of 10,127 visits by tourists and residents of different nationalities, the British being the highest percentage with 46%. National tourists are around 9%. They are closely followed by Germans, French, Swedes, Belgians and Dutch. On the other hand, and as a curious fact, only one Japanese tourist visited the office this semester. “We attend to about 40 different nationalities. There has been a substantial increase in tourism and there is a great demand for attention at the Tourist Office”, explained José María Burgos, a tourist informant. In these facilities, which are located on the square in front of the Town Hall Branch Offices in La Cala, tourists and residents can find information about the tourist, cultural and leisure offer throughout our municipality. “Visitors ask for all  kinds of information, from bus schedules, to nearby towns to be visited. They also ask about beaches and golf courses, the Coastal Path and the ‘Torreón’ (Watchtower)”, added Burgos.
