Mijas - A BOTANICAL ROUTE IS CREATED AT LAS ROZAS CORK OAK AREA IN LA CALA DE MIJAS
Lovers of nature, neighbors and tourists already have at their disposal a new path through which to travel and enjoy the fauna and flora of our town, as well as some privileged views in the Alcornocal de la Roza del Aguado (La Cala de Mijas https://goo.gl/maps/i9bsUG6e4n72). The section of 1.5 kilometers has been adjusted by the Town Hall, while the investment made in this action amounts to 14,000 euros. "Signs have been placed, banks, the route has had to be prepared so that citizens can access it because it was a land that was not passable and protections have also been placed for hikers," explained the mayor of SS.OO and Environment, José Carlos Martín. Now hikers will be able to enjoy this enclave, where the cork tree is the main protagonist, but not the only one. "In addition to the cork oak we find the Kermes oak, the wild olive, rock rose, rosemary, gorse, myrtle ... so up to 24 species," said Vega, who said it is a suitable route for all ages.
