Mijas' Mountain range is one of the most appreciated green areas of the Costa del Sol by its inhabitants and visitors. The rich botany, wildlife and geological peculiarities overlooking the Mediterranean, together with its rugged terrain, make it an attractive natural setting for walkers who wish to enjoy its hidden beauty, views and landscapes.

The Mijas Town Council Department of Tourism and the Department of Environment offer visitors a network of signalized hiking trails to facilitate their walk around the Mijas Mountain. As you can see, these trails join at certain points, meaning that several routes can be explorad in the same day. To make your walk a success, we recommend that you plan your route in advance, always keeping in mind your physical capacity and health condition. It is also advisable to have some orientation knowledge.

Our network of self-guided tracks offers the visitor the chance of discovering the natural surroundings of Mijas through a series of signposted itineraries, all of them start at “El Mirador de Mijas Pueblo” (Mijas town viewpoint) and traverse different spots throughout the southern slope of the sierra.

Information panels on key spots throughout the tracks provide natural, cultural and ethnological data.

On your return, you can enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of Mijas, by sampling some of its typical dishes, or acquiring some of its local handicraft products.

We kindly request you to look after the environment and don't littler in the Sierra. Enjoy your walk!
